The family of ‘Ernesto Perez’ is preserved by people who live in the heart of the Páramo del Almorzadero.
As if it were his greatest treasure, 19 families that are part of the Association of Peasant co-Existing with the Condor, who live between the municipalities of Cerrito and San Andrés (Santander), care for and protect the family of ‘Ernesto Perez’, the frailejones.
His work is part of an initiative led by the Fundación Parque Jaime Duque to preserve and conserve all the species that live in the highlands of Almorzadero. His love for the ecosystem led to the construction of nurseries, the nursery of seedlings with more affection of the department.
